A New Water Canal Boosts Agriculture and Economy in Tavush

Earlier last year, Armenia Fund helped jump-start agricultural production in Armenia's Tavush Region when it restored the main section of the Ijevan Canal. Today the waterway provides irrigation for over 650 hectares of land across five villages.

Built in the Soviet era, the canal had long fallen into disrepair. The financial support of the French sponsors made it possible to repair several sections of the waterway and build new segments, upgrade the pump station, and install a propeller system.
