How to make the Upright Piano sound great! (Recording & Mixing the acoustic piano)

Recording the upright piano is always a very rewarding part of being a recording engineer. Making the acoustic piano sound great in a mix is just as rewarding too!

I hope in this video I can give you some quick insights to what I do to make my Yamaha U1a Upright Acoustic piano record and sound great.

You will be surprised how easy and how little you need to do to make things sound good. The most important parts are using your ears and getting to know and appreciate the sounds of a acoustic piano. Digital touch pianos sound great too, but if you are so use to a digital preset sound, the first times you come to record an actual piano can be quite different!

Best of luck with your recordings and keep well! Martin
