On September 11, 2001 the United States of America was under attack. The September 11 attacks were a series of terrorist attacks, 19 terrorist hijacked four airliners. Two of the planes were flown into the towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, a third plane hit the Pentagon just outside Washington, D.C., and the fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. The attacks consisted of suicide attacks used to target U.S. landmarks.
