Back in 1998, Kobe Bryant came to put on a show in his first all star game.

Through three quarters Kobe led all scorers, put up highlight dunks and went at his idol Michael Jordan every chance he got

But coach George Karl, thought 19 year old Kobe still needed to earn his stripes

So he sat Kobe the entire fourth quarter quarter, allowing MJ to surpass him scoring, secure the win, and get MVP.
