Rescuing Kangaroo Pouch Joey

When you’re out driving, you may see kangaroo corpses by the side of the road and if the bodies are not marked, it’s really important to stop and check pouches.
Joeys can survive for several days after their mothers have died and it’s a horrible way to die.
But, YOU CAN help!
Here’s a little video I made when I came across a body on the side of the road in Lyonville. Hundreds of cars had driven past but look who I found!!

You can also use Google to search for local rescue groups or take joeys or the entire kangaroo to a vet for free assistance!

PPS. If a joey is attached to a teat, DO NOT PULL IT OFF! Either cut the teat or take the entire body to someone who can help. When I find body with a small joey, I’ll make another video to show you how and why.
