IROS 2025 | FLOAT Drone: A Fully-actuated Coaxial Aerial Robot for Close-Proximity Operations

The “FLOAT Drone”,a fully-actuated coaxialaerial robot for close-proximity operations from Prof.Fei Gao’s research team at Zhejiang University has been presented at IROS 2025.
This compact, fully-actuated aerial robot demonstrates precise close-proximity operations—such as watering flowers via a stable tilted hover and traversing inclined narrow gaps—while minimizing airflow disturbance.

The NOKOV Motion Capture System provided the high-precision ground-truth position and attitude data essential for dynamic model validation, controller development, and quantitative performance evaluation .
