Fado Music and the hunt for Pastel de Nata - Lisbon

Our 5 tips for your next trip:

1. Eat a lot pastel de nata. Like A LOT. We tried to find the best place for pastel de nata, but there are so many of them which are sooo good!! Our favorites were Pastel de Belem and Manteigaria! They specialize particularly in them.

2. Besides pastel de natas, eat seafood. Portugal is a country on the Atlantic coast, so use the chance to taste some fresh fish or oysters :)

3. In this trip, we realized that there is no better way to spend a Saturday evening than taking an evening sunset cruise tour in Tagus river. After the long day of sightseeing and walking, it was a perfect thing to do. Sit back and enjoy some magnificent views of Lisbon, listen to the interesting tour guides's stories of Lisbon, and taste some Portuguese wine while enjoying the sunset too. We took a tour with Boat Tour Agency Nosso Tejo, and could highly recommend it.

4. Of course, one of the main attributes of Lisbon - Fado music. We also went to Museum of Fado, but we would recommend to go to the show itself. You will see the whole experience. First evening, we went to Tasca do Chio, there was a queue outside where we had to wait for 20 minutes. And even after we got inside, we needed to wait another 10 minutes to get a table. While waiting, we were almost about to cancel and go home BUT... after we sat down, got a glass of sangria and heard first songs of fado, we realized- it was so much worthy to wait. It really paid off. We came back other 2 evenings too. There are many places of fado in Alfama district, you can hear it from almost each restaurant in the evening. :)

5. Go visit Sintra and Cabo da Roca. You can do it all in one day trip. Take a train to Sintra, and from there there is a bus going to Cabo da Roca. Spectacular nature views in Cabo da Roca and historical experience in Sintra are guaranteed.
