An Ode to Alex G (an original)

This is for an English... project(?) for graduation. As for the title “An Ode to Alex G,” I chose that name because this writing was about Alex G’s music and how listening to his songs makes me feel.. grounded. And a little more human than before.

Sometimes the snap of a snare
Other days, an absence of parting the seams
The piano will soothe our worries away

A balance of both
Emotion and music
An audience will listen

Redundant to rely on
The feelings of others for yourself

I see you can dance alone
Grounded by the siren’s lament

My heart sways

Align with the guitar’s ring
When clouded, a memorable bass line
Clearing my head and
Our thoughts
