Founder of Health Center Speaks on Diagnosis, Treatment and Debunking Myths of Infertility

The World Health Organization says global infertility rates are difficult to determine because they effect both men and women and is a topic most people do not usually speak talk. African women who struggle to have children are often ridiculed and face social stigma.

Rita Ddungu Sembuya, founder and executive director of Joyce Fertility Support Centre Uganda, created her organization to address service gaps in reproductive health care in Uganda. She spoke to VOA’s Auriane Itangishaka on fighting the cultural myth that infertility is always a woman’s problem.
