Drew Shelton - Femispheres - Part 1

Part 1: Drew discusses what a Femisphere is, the design principles, and prepares the turning blank.

Part 2: In Part 2, Drew turns the initial shape, cuts the piece in half, and assembles the final Femisphere.

Drew Shelton is a member of the Central Texas Woodturners
Association and has held many positions in that group, including President. In this demo at the Golden Triangle Woodturners' monthly meeting, Drew discusses the Femisphere and demonstrates how to make one on the lathe.
The Golden Triangle Woodturners meet monthly on the first Monday of the month at 7pm in the Center for the Visual Arts located at the corner of Hickory and Belle streets in Denton, Texas. All are welcome to attend.
