Charismatic Spiritual Abuse Part 4: Inner Healing & Deliverance

Finally breaking the silence and ready to start talking about charismatic spiritual abuse. For context, not all charismatic movements are the same. Specifically, we were wrapped up in more of a “hyper-charismatic” stream of Christianity.

There are healthy charismatic communities, and we have since been able to find healing, healthy leaders, and healthy, balanced communities. However, our journey had a rocky start, and it took years to find healing.

For those who were following along with our love story from the “Beth&Ryan—When God Wrote Our Love Story” videos, we are not finished sharing but we want to start all over.

We took down the initial videos because we were in the thick of our spiritual abuse at the time of posting and do not want to in any way promote hyper-spirituality or any form of striving or charismatic legalism.

Here’s a short update on us: We are still happily married—7 years next June. We are absolute best friends and still wake up every day amazed that God brought us together in such a detailed way. We have two beautiful twin toddlers and an adorable goldendoodle named Piper.

Thank you for taking the time to listen and care. We did not want to leave you guys hanging but could not just pop back on and share the “good stuff” without sharing about the excruciating pain in our walks with the Lord we were also experiencing during that time.
