Kurt Cobain wrote this about Dylan Carlson, one of his most reliable friends throughout his life. The topic is often misinterpreted as Kurt's stab at a broader range of people similar to Carlson.

Cobain once said in an interview this song is about people who write lyrics, but have no clue what their writing means. This could also be about people who do things without thinking about what their actions mean, yet are contented by that. (thanks Live Freak - Beirut, Lebanon)

There are 4 different videos for this song. The first was made by a film student in 1990 before the band was famous. The other 3 are different edits of the same footage. In one, the band is wearing suits, in another, they are wearing dresses, and in the one MTV usually played, they are wearing a suits in some shots and dresses in others. These 3 videos are parodies of the old variety shows like The Ed Sullivan Show. Just like the show, they were filmed in black and white, include footage of a crowd of screaming girls, and feature a host who mispronounces the name of the band.

This was released as a single more than a year after the album came out.
