Breastmilk acts like a shield against harmful bacteria

Newborn babies can get very sick from germs much more easily than an adult, so they need their mother's breastmilk to keep them healthy.

The 100% Breastfed campaign aims to help new mothers and their families understand the benefits of breastfeeding (regardless of their income and social standing), and to create a supportive community that destigmatises the age-old practice of breastfeeding.

The 100% Breastfed campaign videos were created by Digital Medic South Africa, an initiative of the Stanford Centre for Health Education and the Stanford School of Medicine.
