HOW TO FIX PAVING & DRAINAGE l Level Brick Pavers Quickly for Adequate Drainage

Beside being an eyesore, I needed to fix my backyard paving situation as the pavers were poorly laid on soft soil when the house was built, and subsided over time, causing water to run off towards the house's foundation. Worried about possible damage, damp or mildew, I quickly ripped the problem area up to inspect the cause and fix the water drainage!

The level of the affected paver area needed to be raised up with a suitable substrate. We used river sand, which is not only inorganic preventing weeds, but also holds firm over time and keeps the pavers in place.

Once we added some river sand and leveled the area properly, we re-installed the paving back to its intended level and created the right water run off away from the house...protecting the house's foundation from some serious damage in the future. Pleased with the result, we could get on with some exciting DIY projects!
