Being an accidental pioneer in precision medicine | Matt Might | TEDxBirmingham

What can you do when you have done everything possible? In this impactful talk, Matt Might helps us see that we can leverage science to do what was believed to be impossible. Since 2017, Matt Might has been at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he is the Director of the Hugh Kaul Precision Medicine Institute and a Professor of both Internal Medicine and Computer Science. Matt’s mission is to make precision medicine a reality for all patients. He is also a Scientific Advisor to brain-focused precision medicine company Q State Biosciences (after acquisition of his start-up Pairnomix).

In 2015, Matt joined the Biomedical Informatics at the Harvard Medical School, and from 2016 to 2018, he was a Strategist in the Executive Office of the President in The White House. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
