Wie kann in Zeiten einer Pandemie eine Award-Show realisiert werden? Was bedeutet es für Künstler*innen, vor deutlich kleinerem Publikum zu spielen? Diese und viele weitere Fragen beantworten wir euch in der dreiteiligen Doku zur fünften Ausgabe des ANCHOR – Reeperbahn Festival International Music Awards.

Gedreht während der Vorbereitungen zur Show und im Laufe des Festivals, geben wir in der Dokumentation einen Einblick hinter die Kulissen, begleiten die Nominees zu ihren Konzerten, sprechen mit der Jury in New York (Tony Visconti, Brody Dalle & Darcy Proper) und vor Ort in Hamburg (Melanie C., Frank Dellé & Markus Kavka) und sind Backstage dabei, wenn es heißt: Wer gewinnt den ANCHOR 2020?

Seit dem Debüt im Jahr 2006 hat sich das Reeperbahn Festival zu einem der wichtigsten Treffpunkte für die Musikwelt entwickelt und zeigt, wie sich ein überbordendes musikalisches Line-Up mit musikwirtschaftlichen Interessen und zivilgesellschaftlichem Engagement verbinden lässt. Neben Konzerten umfasst das Programm auch Formate aus der Bildenden Kunst oder Virtual Reality sowie ein thematisch vielfältiges Film- und Literaturangebot. Im Rahmen von Sessions, Showcases, Networking Events und Award-Shows können Fachbesucher*innen des Reeperbahn Festivals Musik neu denken, erleben und: hören.

Unsere Festivals finden im Zeichen des Miteinanders statt– Rassismus, Sexismus, Homophobie und Ausgrenzung finden bei uns keinen Platz.

How can an award show be realised in times of a pandemic? What does it mean for artists to play in front of a much smaller audience? These and many more questions are answered in the three-part documentary on the fifth edition of ANCHOR - Reeperbahn Festival International Music Awards.

The documentary will give you a glimpse of behind the scenes. Filmed during the preparations for the show and in the process of the festival, we accompany the nominees to their concerts, talk to the jury in New York (Tony Visconti, Brody Dalle & Darcy Proper) and in Hamburg (Melanie C., Frank Dellé & Markus Kavka) and are backstage when it's time to say: Who will win ANCHOR 2020?

Reeperbahn Festival is the biggest club festival in Europe and the largest European platform for international pop culture and the music industry. Since 2006, for four days each September the Reeperbahn in Hamburg, Germany has become the center of the international music world and a sustainable interface between artists, the public, industry representatives and society. The Conference program is aimed at professional visitors from all segments of the music industry from around the world.
