Making a Marquee Cafe Sign
My son asked me to make a marquee style sign for the cafe in the youth room at his church. I used some oak plywood left over from another project and reclaimed oak strips for the sides. The sides had to be wood rather than metal which made it challenging to follow the curves around the letter "C". I bent the wood by cutting shallow grooves or kerfs across the grain and finished it with iron-on veneer.
For the lights, I found a similar project by Jimmy Diresta where I learned a way of wiring it with Christmas lights. Thanks, Jimmy!
