How to Build an Executive-System Map (12.2.1)

Picture your desk for a second. Pick up whatever's nearby — pens, coins, sticky notes, the salt and pepper shakers — and let one object stand for each person on the executive team you chose. Then place them, not in a neat row, but the way the team actually feels: who's at the center, who's pushed to the edge, who's turned toward whom, who's turned away. That single move takes a system that lived in your head and puts it where you can walk around it.

This is the most hands-on unit in the course. You build your real map in passes, each tied to its source module, while the video builds alongside you one decision at a time.

Chapters:
0:00 When the Structure Finally Holds Still
1:47 Go Get Your Materials — Build With Your Hands
3:33 What Your Hand Already Knows About This Team
5:25 Pass One: Positions With Stated Rationale
7:25 Pass Two: Ghost Roles Nobody Is Holding
9:28 Pass Three: Center of Gravity and Its Default Ear
11:25 Pass Four: Mark the Formation Collision Fully
13:30 The Map Stays Below the Waterline
15:37 What a Solo Tabletop Map Can and Cannot Do
17:48 Build It Now — Photograph, Reflect, Capture Surprise

In this lesson:
• Place a member for each executive so the position itself carries a stated rationale — "Operations sits at the edge facing out because the team decides without it" is a read; a tidy circle is a seating chart
• Surface the ghost roles — the absent customer, the unrepresented frontline, the missing dissent, the founder whose standard still runs the room — and mark at least one
• Read the Center of Gravity off the layout: which formation the whole room is built to hear, and what it amplifies and suppresses
• Mark the sharpest collision as a read, not a label — "proof-before-investment, multi-year clock ↔ movement-before-proof, campaign clock," not "CFO ↔ CMO"
• Stay below the waterline — this read is your working depth and supervision, never polished into a slide for the executives
