Shin Pain After Knee Replacement

Shin pain after knee replacement is commonly caused by bone strain. Before your knee replacement, you likely had a malalignment of the knee. Some clients may have knock knee or bow legged curvature

In a recent study the suspected cause of tibia (shin) pain and specifically pain at the front/inner aspect of the knee was bone strain.

The bone may take as long as 12-months to remodel and become accustom to the new knee alignment. Factors that will influence how long this remodeling takes include your age, the health of your bones, body weight, nutrition, digestive function, smoking, other medical complications and comorbidities, and more.
