When I made my workbench I decided to put some dog holes in the top. The problem is when I put the drawer box in it only left about 5” from the top of the bench to the drawer box, unless you were trying to secure a work piece at least 2” think this resulted in traditional hold fasts bottoming out on the drawer box top before being able to secure the work piece. A solution I came up with, well that I had seen before, is to modify f-clamps to be used in dog holes. And since you are basically destroying the clamps in this process it would be advisable to use the cheapest clamps you can find, thus the use of Harbor Freight clamps.
