Reproduction
A vital process aims to produce new individuals (offspring) that resemble their parents.

Genetic traits are transmitted from parents to offspring through genetic material known as chromosomes.
The genetic material (chromosomes) is found in:
- The nuclei of the eukaryotes.
- The cytoplasm of the prokaryotes.

Chromosomes
Third like bodies that represent the genetic material of the eukaryotic organisms, which are responsible for the transmission of genetic traits from parents to offspring

Centromere
The central point at which the two chromatids of the chromosome are connected.

Genetics
The science that studies the transmission of genetic traits from parents to offspring.

Mutation
The emergence of a new hereditary trait that did not previously exist, as a result of a change in the nature of the gene responsible for it.
