Stephen's Gulch Conservation Area | Discover YOUR Clarington

Our Discover YOUR Clarington journey now takes us to Stephen's Gulch Conservation Area in Clarington, located at 360 Stephen's Mill Road just north of Bowmanville. There is a small metered parking lot out front. There are approximately 350 acres of protected woodlands and streams with a mix of coniferous and deciduous trees and shrubs including furs, pines, and ash.

There are almost 50 species of birds in 15 species of animals including deer and fox that call this conservation area home. There are 3 kilometers of walking and hiking trails that you can snowshoe and ski in the winter and the trail is hard packed, wide and well marked. This is an important part of the Soper Creek sub-watershed as it filters water protects wildlife as well as woodlands

Interesting fact, originally this was a stop on the now long gone Canadian Northern Rail Line from Napanee to Toronto.
