The G101 retains some of the features of the preceding V-25 while... well... not really adding much. It has the same 105mm guns that are unreliable in damage output and gives you 7km torpedoes but increases your detection range to 6.5km with camo on (6.7km without). This definitely requires a healthy dose of luck being on your side to effectively maximize your damage potential. Abuse of island cover and smoke, as well as knowing WHEN to charge torpedo a ship are all key skills that MUST be picked up in order to be successful. Thankfully those skills will pay dividends in later tiers!
