മലയാളത്തിലെ ചലച്ചിത്രഗാനരചയിതാവും,പാട്ടുകാരനും നടനുമാണ് ശബരീഷ് വർമ്മ . 2013ൽ അൽഫോൺസ് പുത്രൻ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത നേരം(Neram) എന്ന മലയാളചിത്രത്തിലൂടെയാണ് Shabareesh Varma ചലച്ചിത്ര മേഖലയിലേക്ക് പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നത്. Neram എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിൽ ജഗതി ശ്രീകുമാർ രചിച്ച Pistah സുമാക്കിറായ എന്ന ഗാനമാലപിച്ചു. 2015ൽ അൽഫോൺസ് പുത്രൻറെതന്നെ സംവിധാനത്തിൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ Premam എന്ന സിനിമയിൽ ഗാനരചയിതാവും ഗായകനും ആയിരുന്നു. കൂടാതെ ചിത്രത്തിലെ ശംഭു എന്ന കഥാപാത്രത്തെയും അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു. പ്രശസ്ത എഴുത്തുകാരൻ പി.കെ നന്ദവർമ്മയുടെയും വയലിനിസ്റ്റ് സുലേഖ വർമ്മയുടെയും മകനായി ഏറണാകുളത്തെ നോർത്ത് പറവൂരിലായിരുന്നു ജനനം. .സ്കൂൾ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിനു ശേഷം .എസ്.എ.ഇ ഇൻസ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ടിൽ ഓഡിയോ എഞ്ചിനീയറിങ്ങിൽ ബിരുദം നേടിയ ശബരീഷ് തമിഴ്,തെലുങ്ക്,കന്നട സിനിമകളിൽ റിക്കോർഡിസ്റ്റായി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.
ചെയുന്ന ജോലിയോട് ഇഷ്ടമുണ്ടായാൽ വിയർക്കുന്നതറിയില്ലയെന്നാണ് Shabareesh Varma വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നത്.

Shabareesh Varma is a lyricist, singer, and actor working in Malayalam cinema. He made his debut in Alphonse Putharen's acclaimed 2013 film Neram. He rose to fame with his lyrics for the 2015 film cult-blockbuster film Premam. He is well known for his song Pistah in Neram, which was also used as the promo song for the 2016 Indian Premier League. Shabareesh Varma was born to P.K Nandana Varma and Sulekha Varma in North Paravur, Ernakulam. He studied in SAE Institute and graduated in Audio Engineering and Music Production. After completing the graduation course, he worked in the films Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, Ye Maaya Chesave, Nadunisi Naaygal, Pizza, Soodhu Kavvum, Pizza II: Villa, and Jigarthanda. He started his acting stint with a short film "Cling-Cling" followed by "Neram (short film)" in which he was the protagonist pitched up against Vijay Sethupathi. His first film was the bilingual Neram directed by Alphonse Putharen. In 2015, he was a part of the blockbuster Malayalam movie Premam as a lyricist, singer, and actor. He wrote the lyrics for 7 songs, sung 5 of them and played the character 'Shambu' in the film.
