PMGR: Death and Data: Why They Matter to the Public Health Practitioner

The November 2023 Preventive Medicine Grand Rounds (PMGR) features Dr. Anindita Issa, Medical Officer in the National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In this presentation, Dr. Issa discusses the death investigation process and how mortality data are used by public health systems. She also talks about mortality data tracking challenges and efforts to improve the death investigation system. This includes discussion on data modernization efforts to promote data sharing and interoperability.
