Educational day for Dublin City Kids 27 July 2019

Who said never work with children and animals?

On Saturday, MLHR were delighted to host a fantastic group of youngsters from Dublin city centre who had the opportunity to meet our animals and watch demonstrations from equine experts. It was a huge success, a very positive day and we were very impressed with all the questions being asked and enthusiasm to get stuck in.

We'd like to thank everyone who gave us their time for the day - Maria O'Rourke (Equine Dentist http://www.equinedentist.ie/), Fergal Keenan (Farrier), David Mulreany (http://mulreanyscarriages.com/) and our own Tarah Daly (BHS Instructor) for giving really interesting demos. And also Harvey and retired carriage horse Cruiser for being so patient.

The day couldn't have happened without the full support of Kevin Street An Garda Síochána (Sergeant Ian Lambe, Garda Liam Holland and driver) and Ashling Golden from Solas Project (https://solasproject.com) and The Liberties Club (SICCDA (South Inner City Community Development Association))

We do it all again on Thursday 1st August, with another group of youngsters from Dublin 8 in conjunction with Kevin Street Gardaí and local youth groups which we are really looking forward to!
