How Emotional Empathy Can Create a Healthier Relationship
Emotional Empathy, in general, is the ability understand the emotions of others. There are different levels of empathy in a relationship. Cognitive and Emotional are the most common ones:
Cognitive empathy is being able to intellectually understand what your other half if feeling. With this kind of empathy, you can acknowledge what your other half is going through validating their experience.
Emotional empathy is the ability to feel the emotions of your significant other, and be able to respond appropriately without putting your own personal agenda in the mix.
It is a deeper way of relating to another's experience on a connected level.

Empathy is extremely important when it comes to relationships because you and your significant other are not always going to agree on things.
In fact, you can almost bet that thee are going to be endless disagreements within the course of the relationship.
Having a healthy relationship is not always about coming to a resolution, but more about making sure your other half understands how you feel.
When your other half is able to emotionally empathize with us, we feel validated and understood. This allows us the freedom to open up and trust our partners to energetically hold our emotions when we express them.
When we feel that our spouse lacks empathy, that can create a hostile relationship filled with anger and resentment towards our significant others.
It results in having a lack of trust and intimacy, which can ultimately lead to relationship devastation.
It is important to practice emotional empathy in your relationship. It's easy for us and for our other halves to get tangled up in own perspectives, emotions, and feelings.
It is important to take a deep relaxing breath during these times and focus on having the goal of being able to understand where your partner is coming from, even if you do not agree.
Simply giving your partner undivided attention (Watch Video Here: https://youtu.be/XwArTpd5S4g) is a good way to practice emotional empathy.
This will allow you to focus on them and pay attention to the internal responses you are having, without acting on them at the moment. This allows your other half to be tended to and feel cared about.
