Syria: Port city of Latakia allegedly hit by Israel - state media

At least one person was killed and six others wounded after an alleged Israeli attack hit several coastal targets and caused a fire at a plastics factory near the port city of Jableh City, in the Latakia governorate in North-Western Syria, on Wednesday, according to the SANA news agency.

SANA also said the attack was intercepted by Syrian Arab Army air defences.

Footage shows a large fire burning near Jableh City.​​

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights​ reports that at least 14 people were killed in another offensive near Hifa, east of Latakia, and other explosions were heard in Masyaf in Hama province, as well as insinuating that the targets were military.

Latakia is the ancestral home of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The IDF has not yet commented on the attacks.
