Rappaport Institute Event: Staying on Track: Addressing The MBTA's Fiscal and Operational Challenges
Dr. Beverly Scott, General Manager, Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), spoke at Harvard Kennedy School on February 13, 2013. The MBTA serves over 1.2 million riders every day over multiple transportation modes and operates with a budget of $1.65 billion dollars. Within the context of constant fiscal pressure and long-term underinvestment in transportation maintenance, keeping the MBTA running is a challenge. The woman responsible for meeting that challenge is Beverly Scott, the incoming General Manager of the MBTA.
This event was co-sponsored by the Rappaport Institute for Greater Boston and the Taubman Center for State and Local Government.
