Testing Digital ABS sensors: Ford Escape

This 2006 Ford Escape has an ABS light on the dash and a trouble code C1234 "Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor Signal Missing."

I show how to perform a complete ABS system diagnosis, starting from a test drive to manually testing the sensor with an oscilloscope.

This turns out to be a perfect example of why you should NOT change parts just based on trouble codes!!

This vehicle has digital-type ABS sensors, which are becoming the norm for most newer vehicles. Testing digital ABS sensors with an oscilloscope is not as easy as the traditional AC pulse generator VRS-type sensors. We go over a few quick tricks to set up your scope and what to look for when testing these digital-type sensors.
