If you've ever heard a pastor explain why people should believe in Christianity, it's almost inevitable that New Testament manuscripts came up. After all, there are more ancient copies of the New Testament than of any other book in history, right? And no other document dates closer to the time of the event it's describing, right? So since these are the measures by which historians decide whether something happened, the life, miracles, and resurrection of Jesus are the best attested events in history... right? Thus Jesus is real and God and any rational person would be a Christian.

Or is it really that simple? In this video, I discuss some of the more common ways believers have come to misunderstand the basics of history after having been subjected to the fast-talking, result-targeted routines of apologists.

This is part three of a short series in which I break down a more in-depth presentation by Voddie Bacham trying to prove the Bible is true. It's as much an examination of the phenomenon of Biblical apologetics as a refutation of the arguments.
