Biden probably asked Israeli PM to ‘put the brakes on’ in Gaza during ‘desperation’ call
Curtin University’s Dean of Global Futures Professor Joe Siracusa says US President Joe Biden probably privately asked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to “put the brakes on”.
Professor Siracusa’s remarks come after President Biden told the press that he had a long talk with Mr Netanyahu.
He said it was a private conversation but did divulge that he has not asked Mr Netanyahu for a ceasefire in Gaza amid Israel’s military campaign against Hamas.
“The call was a desperation call,” Professor Siracusa told Sky News Australia.
“A lot of American people blame Biden for his inability so far to do anything with the Israelis.”
