A comparison of audio quality and sound from 3 different sources. AirPods, Built in iPad Pro mic, and a Rode Smartlav+

In this video I test the Apple AirPods, the built in mic on an iPad Pro 9.7, and a Rode SmartLav+ lavaliere microphone. I like all three audio sources for different reasons.

The AirPods are great because they are wireless and you don’t get tangled in cords. You don’t here screen noise and movement like you do with the built in mic.

The build in mic is great for those run-n-gun moments where you just need to shoot video and don’t have time or reason to fiddle with an audio source.

The Rode SmartLav+ is my go-to mic for screen recording though. It sound most like my real voice and does a good job canceling out sounds around me. I got mine here: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1059342-REG
