CHILE: Atacama meets Pacific - ZEITreise Ep 14

Where the greatest ocean meets the driest desert, Chile‘s coastline turns wild. The Pacific swells roar migthily ashore, and thousands of seabirds feast on the opulent marine life. And when evening comes, a strange mist rises from the sea and drifts towards the Atacama, bringing life into the desert.

Wir sind in der Atacama Region angekommen. Hier trifft der größte Ozean auf die trockenste Wüste der Welt. Der Humboldtstrom macht den Pazifik besonders nährstoffreich, und wir können tausende Seevögel beobachten. Abends steigt Nebel vom kalten Meer auf, treibt die Küstenkordillere hoch und bringt Leben in die Atacama-Wüste. Und die Zwillinge dürfen den ersten Marshmallow ihres Lebens am Vollmond-Lagerfeuer grillen.
