**Forgive all the bleeps and bloops and censoring. Trying to not get demonetized here. I know it'll happen but I'd like to put it off for as long as possible**

So the reason I don't consider this particular scar as a "self h*rm" scar is this. There is a specific connotation around the word "self h*rm". It implies a deep and typically negative view of the self. I'm NOT saying this is true in all cases, but for a lot of people they hurt themselves because they are unhappy with themselves in one way or another and they are looking to somehow "punish" themselves for their perceived misgivings. I know I have personally felt this way and have had experiences with h*ming myself in that way. I don't see this scar as anything but a purely selfish and impulsive decision in order to award myself more satisfaction. I don't want to classify such a indulgent decision as self h*rm. I just don't see it that way. Of course, in the most literal interpretation, yes, of course, I have h*rmed myself. But otherwise, I just don't want to group other people's real pain into my stupid decisions.

I realize at the time I WAS in real pain, but it was in another form, hidden behind irrational behavior. I didn't do this because I was in pain, I did it because I wanted more, more, more.
