Mumbai on Rain Alert | ⚠️ Weather Alert for Maharashtra!

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Palghar, Pune, Nashik, Kolhapur and many other districts. Meanwhile, an Orange Alert has been declared for parts of Vidarbha, including Gondia, Bhandara, Wardha, Yavatmal, and Gadchiroli.

Unseasonal rains, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are expected to continue over the next 24–48 hours.

⚡ Mumbai witnessed light to moderate showers in areas like Mulund, Powai, Bhandup, and Saki Naka. Santacruz recorded a high of 34.6°C, while Colaba recorded 33.4°C.

🌧️ Nashik city received 21 mm rainfall and Trimbakeshwar experienced heavy showers disrupting traffic.

🔍 Reason: A low-level trough is disrupting wind patterns over the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea, creating favorable conditions for pre-monsoon showers. IMD also predicts monsoon onset around May 14 in the Andaman region and May 27 in Kerala.
