Alien (1979) YT Alpha Edition | Part 4: The Eighth Passenger

This is Part 4 of the Alien (1979) Restored Edition Alpha, a fan-edited restoration created for YouTube.
This version reintegrates deleted scenes, newly produced material, and reconstructed moments based on the original screenplay.

In this chapter, a new alien form is born from Kane, fully revealing the creature’s horrifying evolution. As the Nostromo crew searches the ship, tension escalates toward a tragic turning point when Brett encounters the alien, with fatal consequences.

This restored edition follows the original narrative intent of Alien (1979) more closely than any theatrical cut and is presented as a multi-part series.

The video includes:
- Deleted scenes: extended chestburster sequence, the Gathering, extended Brett death scene
- Added inserts and other footage: several small shots integrated into various scenes
- Added scenes based on the original script: scripted audio dialogue at the end of the chestburster scene, the first search sequence (audio dialogue + video footage), the beginning of the second search sequence (audio dialogue)

Notes:
Chestburster scene
The entire chestburster scene has been reconstructed with new camera angles, and additional material has been added to depict the chestburster itself. The depiction of the chestburster in this video is a creative reconstruction by Alien Vault and was not filmed or shown in any original Alien material. Scripted dialogue has been added at the end of the scene.

First search sequence
According to the script, the crew initially searches for the chestburster on Deck A. In the official film versions, this sequence was created by cutting the beginning of the second search sequence on Deck B and overlaying some of the audio dialogue from the first search. In this video, the sequence has been reconstructed to follow the original script, showing Deck A and adding the corresponding scripted dialogue.

Second search sequence
Per the script, after the Gathering, the crew splits into two groups to search for the alien, starting on Deck B. Ripley, Parker, and Brett detect the signal and move to Deck C. This scene does not appear in the official film versions, although production documentation confirms it was filmed. In the video, the sequence has been reconstructed according to the original script, showing Deck B and including scripted dialogue to transition the scene to Deck C.

Brett and the alien encounter
The video reconstructs the original scripted encounter between Brett and the alien. In the script, the alien crushes Brett’s head with its hands, rather than impaling him with its inner jaw as seen in the official film versions.

Unfortunately, some of the added materials are of poor quality due to the low resolution of the source material.
