A Sherlock Holmes Adventure: The Devil's Foot

This is rather a good story from the collection of Sherlock Holmes adventures entitled His Last Bow, published in 1917. The action takes place in Cornwall where Holmes is supposed to be recuperating from the rigours of his metropolitan life. He is summoned to attend a bizarre and gruesome crime scene. Nobody can envy those carted off in the wagon to Helston.
