"Playing" with BISMUTH! Awesome CRYSTALS and EASY Metal Casting!

In this one, I show you all how to make crystals and metal casts out of Bismuth! Bismuth is a very unusual metal! It has a strange quality called "paramagnetism", which causes it to become more magnetic on its outermost edges as its crystals cool, which forms incredible rainbow colored and stepped structures known as hopper crystals. One thing that makes bismuth even cooler is its extremely low melting point, meaning this is a metal you can smelt at home on your stove top! Because of its low melting point, bismuth is a perfect metal to enter the world of metal casting, as you do not require a foundry to melt it down. Keep in mind that the more bismuth you have, the bigger the crystals you will be able to make. It is definitely a lot of fun to work with, and I would highly recommend giving making your own hopper crystals a try! I hope you enjoy, and I will have another one out soon!

ALWAYS PRACTICE SAFETY WHEN WORKING WITH ANY MOLTEN METAL! EVEN WITH BISMUTH'S LOW MELTING POINT, BURNS ARE STILL VERY MUCH POSSIBLE AND CAN BE VERY PAINFUL! WEAR PROPER HEAT RESISTANT GLOVES AND WORK IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA!
