The Elephant's Trunk | A Yoruba Tale

For thousands of years, elephants have been admired for their great size, surprising intelligence, and their unique trunks. Their trunk is capable of many incredible feats of lifting, dexterity, and is helpful in terms of feeding and bathing. But according to a story from Yoruba folklore, there was a time when elephants had no trunk at all! They had a bulbous short snout, incapable of any of the abilities elephants are famed for, and it would have stayed that way were it not for one curious young elephant!
