POV TESLA FSD 12 6 4 EP314
Heavy afternoon rush-hour crawl home on LA freeways with Tesla FSD (Supervised) on HW3—traffic was thick, but FSD handled it impressively well!
My 2020 Model Y Long Range turned what could’ve been a stressful grind into a mostly chill, bearable commute. Engaged early, minimal interventions, and it navigated the bumper-to-bumper flow confidently. I switched between Standard and Hurry modes a few times to match the chaotic pace, flicked in some manual lane changes when needed, and kept the speed offset at +20% (down from +40%) for smoother, less aggressive behavior in congestion. Overall, I love using FSD daily—it’s reliable even in this mess and makes commuting way less painful. My main (and only real) complaint remains the lane choices: it sometimes picks weird, unnecessary switches into slower/more jammed lanes or briefly hops out and right back in. Definitely feels like a mapping issue rather than anything else. Still desperately awaiting FSD v14 Lite for HW3—it's slated for Q2 2026 and should bring some of those newer improvements without leaving us behind. Haven't given up on this hardware at all; it's crushing everyday drives like this one! If you're dealing with LA traffic on HW3, how's FSD performing for you in heavy congestion? Share in the comments!
