Is "Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria" Real? (or is it really ADHD trauma?)
This is an edited clip from a recent live talk I gave on Instagram. For more content like this, please follow me @neuroemergent_insurgent.

In particular, I am taking a critical look at science behind the concept of "Executive Function" and its misuses in the ADHD and Autism Industries. All of my content is available to all patrons, no matter the tier, and you can support me for as little as $1/month.
Dr. William Dodson has theorized a condition which he has named Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria, and which he believes is genetically and neurologically intrinsic to ADHD. His theory is, by his own admission, based in no scientific evidence, and is entirely his own speculation based on his clinical observations of the ADHD people he has treated in his psychiatric practice. Despite having no peer reviewed evidence, Dr. Dodson insists that this condition is intrinsic to ADHD and—most significantly—untreatable by psychotherapy or any other treatment but two medications Dr. Dodson has found effective with his own patients.
I fullly acknowledge that many ADHD people experience extreme sensitivity and reactivity to rejection, but I theorize that the symptoms of RSD as described by Dr. Dodson are identical to the symptoms of complex trauma. In this video, I outline the ways that I believe trauma is the air ADHD (and other neurodivergent) people breathe from the day we are born. I theorize that what Dr. Dodson describes as the untreatable condition of RSD is in fact the highly treatable condition of complex trauma.
