EXPOSED! Amazon are RESELLING RETURNS as NEW - Amazon FBA UK 2019

After receiving a negative review that Amazon would not removed (that was 100% caused by Amazon Fulfilment), I have decided to expose that Amazon are selling customer returns as new products.

In Seller Central there is a setting called "Furbishing Settings", this allows you to opt out of allowing Fulfilment centres to furbish returned items.

I changed this setting during my first week of selling products on Amazon UK, however, despite there being 20 returns only 1 product has been removed from inventory and returned to me.

This means 19 products have been resold to customers "As New" and has led to a negative review regarding the condition of the product.

I contacted Amazon explaining that the issue is 100% due to the Fulfilment process, however, they refused to remove it as it is the customerss experience of the product.

I don't want Amazon to resell any returns as I don't think it is morally right and will also lead to negative feedback.

I would strongly recommend keeping this in mind when designing the packaging for your product. I am going to modify my future products to feature single use packaging and/or tamper proof stickers. This should make it very difficult for Amazon to resell the product.
