Motown Records Success Due Largely to Family Berry Gordy Born Into
Berry Gordy created the most successful Black-owned independent record corporation in the United States and perhaps in the world. The Detroit Black family that he was born into developed a loving, supportive, creative environment where the entire family thrived - parents as well as children. Today the music they created along with the Motown family of artists is legend. The music endures and lives on. This video primarily traces Berry's and the rest of the family's endeavors from 1936 to 1960 when Motown Corporation was Incorporated.
