Is it time to buy a mountain bike for you kid or is it time to move them up to a 24 inch mountain bike? Looking for a great beginner bike on midsize budget? Well we just went through that, and if you're like me, the thought of spending $900 for a bike that they are going to outgrow feels wrong, but at the same time, you want a quality bike for them to enjoy. After tons and tons of research, this was ultimately the best kids mountain bike that you can get for the money. At least in our opinion.

We upgraded from a Giant XTC Jr. 20 inch mountain bike to the Vitus Nucleus 24 (https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/us/en/vitus-nucleus-24-youth-bike-2020/rp-prod181444).

We looked at Trailcraft, Prevolo, Spawn, Giant, Trek, Orbea, Diamond Back, Commencal, Norco Scott and many more kids bike brands, but none of them hit the 7 things I was looking for in a kids bike.
