Building Traditional North Alaskan Hunting Kayak Frames, Step by Step

This video takes you on a journey from board to finished frame as we replicate two traditional Inupiaq hunting kayak frames. Other than what is published in Harvey Goldens book Kayaks of Alaska, there is very little reference material on the construction of these kayaks, and few have been built in modern times, so we painstakingly documented the process of rebuilding them for others who wish to follow in our footsteps.
