This is Sufjan's full solo concert at Calvin College's Covenant Fine Arts Center in 2004. He's playing right before Rosie Thomas and Denison Witmer's own sets taking place during the biannual Festival of Faith and Writing. This nine song set is comprised of songs from A Sun Came, the "new record" Seven Swans, Michigan, and one from an upcoming album about Illinois.

Although Sufjan went to Calvin's rival Hope College, he's had a long history with my alma mater and also Ken Heffner who gives the intro. Sufjan would frequently perform at Calvin in his band Marzuki. In 1996 one of these shows led Sufjan to Brooklyn and its wider music community for the first time.
