Bruce Lee in The Big Boss. Fighting Multiple Attackers

If I was forced to choose which one of the #BruceLee classics is my favourite, I would probably have to pick #TheBigBoss. Not only because it was the first movie I ever saw of Lee's, but also because it was the first film he made after returning to #HongKong that completely revolutionized the #MartialArts film industry, showcasing a level of authenticity and realism never before seen and shocking audiences in the process. Although the film was made on a shoestring budget, the impact it delivered was immense and made the stuff he did in #Hollywood on The Green Hornet look "amateurish" by comparison, even though by Hollywood standards, it was groundbreaking.

The Big Boss also had Heart. A Tale of consequence...what in essence is a simple story of a man looking forward to a bright future in a new country(#Thailand) only to become a victim of circumstance. A story of brotherhood and perceived betrayal which culminated in a tragic end, in order that Justice (or Vengeance) could be served.

From a Fight Choreography standpoint, not only did it show all the ranges of Combat which would become a staple in all of Lee's movies, the film realistically, yet cinematically depicted how one dealt with multiple assailants, without resorting to the #Wuxia trend of flying around ala Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, which was prevalent in Hong Kong movies at the time.

Seeing it again, remastered and in High Definition Blu Ray is certainly a treat and serves as a reminder as to why it broke the Box Office Record at the time of its Theatrical release.
