What is Photonics?
Photonics technologies are amazing, fascinating, and you find them everywhere: in communication, entertainment, medical, manufacturing, automotive, energy, lighting, agriculture, photovoltaic, security, art, … This video was created by UCL EEE partner, the European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC) in readiness for the UNESCO International Year of Light (http://www.light2015.org/). UCL and Cambridge have set up a Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Integrated Photonic and Electronic Systems and are accepting applications for their popular MRes programme (www.ipes-cdt.org).
