Old Italian Tango - Caro Mio, 1935

Caro mio (My Dear) Tango (Luigi Cibolla) -- Orkiestra Robert RENARD, Odeon 1935 (Poland)

Note: Robert Renard's Orchestra was a German band recording a lot of dance records in the 1930s. As here or there it is being said, the band's director was in fact Otto Dobrindt -- renowned Geman conductor who, under various pseudonyms led several popular dance orchestras of the 1920s and 1930s (Saxophon-Orchester Dobbri, Odeon Tanz-Orchester, Eddie Saxon, Eric Harden Tanz-Orchester). Yet, you can never be sure about that, for very often a nick-name-mania of American and German bandleaders of the 1920s and 30s makes almost impossible to separate the true facts from all those mystifications. For me, Robert Renard's band is very easy to distinguish from others because of its habit of using organs in its arrangements. Therefore, it quite possibly was NOT the band led by Dobrindt, who as it seems -- and guessing from his very traditionally-jazzy and really hot-syncopated dance arrangements (especially, by the Saxophon-Orchester Dobbri!) did not have any crush on that kind of instrumental novelties.
The photo show has been completed from the Italian commercial posters from the 1920/30s.
